Privacy Policy — Move to Drive

Move to Drive (“the app”) is developed by Johan Larsson (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app accesses and how that information is handled.

Summary

Move to Drive does not collect, store, or share your personal data. The app has no servers of its own. Everything happens on your device and between your device and your own Google Drive account. We never receive your files, your Google account details, or any usage data.

Information the app accesses

To move files from your device to your Google Drive, the app accesses the following, only on your device and only while you use it:

• Google account: When you sign in with Google, the app uses your account to upload files to your Google Drive. It can see your account email address (shown in the app so you know which account is active) and is granted access to create files in your Drive. Sign-in is handled by Google Play Services; we never see or store your password.
• Files on your device: The app lists the photos, videos, audio, and other files on your device so you can choose which to move, and reads the contents of the files you select in order to upload them. It does not read files you don’t select.
• Google Drive: The app uses the drive.file scope, which lets it create and manage only the files and folders it creates in your Drive. It cannot read or access your existing Drive content.

The app does not transmit any of this information to us or to any third party. Files are uploaded directly from your device to your Google Drive.

How permissions are used

• Photos/media and files access — to list and read the files you choose to move.
• Google Sign-In / Google Drive — to upload your selected files and create folders.
• Internet — to transfer files to Google Drive.
• Foreground service — to keep an in-progress transfer running with a progress notification.
• Notifications — to show transfer progress and results.

Moving and deleting files

When you move a file, the app uploads it to your Google Drive and verifies the upload (by comparing a checksum) before deleting the local copy from your device. This deletion is the app’s core function and happens only for files you select.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Move to Drive’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Drive access is used solely to provide the file-moving feature you request, and is never used for advertising or sold.

Data sharing and selling

We do not share or sell any data. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data retention and deletion

The app stores only minimal settings on your device (such as your most recently selected Drive folder) and a temporary image cache; these are removed when you uninstall the app. We hold no data about you. You can revoke the app’s access to your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children’s privacy

Move to Drive is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Transfers to Google Drive use encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Your data stays on your device and in your own Google account; there is no separate server.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
